1. Overview & Commitment
This Privacy Policy explains how PropList ("we", "our", or "the Platform") collects, uses, stores, and protects personal and professional information when brokers and prospective property seekers access our service.
Key Principle: We do not sell your personal data or property inquiry leads to third parties, competitors, or marketing aggregators.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information strictly necessary to operate your property portfolio and facilitate buyer inquiries:
A. Broker Account Information
When you register as a broker, we collect your Full Name, Mobile Number, Email Address, and Password. Passwords are cryptographically hashed using standard one-way bcrypt hashing before storage and are never stored in plaintext.
B. Broker Profile Information
Information you choose to add to your profile: Agency Name, Profile Photo, Professional Bio, Operating Localities/Areas Served, RERA Registration Number, Website, and Social Media links (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube).
C. Property Listing Data & Media
Property titles, pricing, configuration (BHK, bathrooms, area), locality, city, state, description, and uploaded photographs or videos.
D. Buyer Site Visit Requests & Lead Inquiries
When prospective buyers submit site visit requests on a property, we record their Name, Phone Number, Email (if provided), preferred date, time slot, and message. This information is exclusively routed to the listing broker's workspace.
E. Technical & Engagement Analytics
We record non-identifiable engagement events (e.g. page view counts, brochure downloads, WhatsApp click counts, and general device type) to provide brokers with listing performance metrics.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create, host, and display your public broker portfolio and property listings.
- To route direct WhatsApp, phone, and site visit inquiries from interested buyers directly to you.
- To generate downloadable branded PDF brochures and QR codes.
- To authenticate your broker session and protect your account against unauthorized access.
- To provide engagement analytics in your Broker Home workspace.
- To verify broker credentials when granting the Verified Broker badge.
4. Public vs. Private Information
Public Information: Your broker profile photo, agency name, public bio, phone/WhatsApp number, published property listings, and RERA number are visible on your public portfolio page for potential clients.
Private Information: Your account password, internal session tokens, account email address (unless opted for public display), and received buyer visit requests are private to your authenticated workspace and never shared with other brokers or public visitors.
5. Third-Party Infrastructure & Data Storage
We rely on established enterprise infrastructure to securely store and process data:
- Database: Structured database records are hosted on Supabase PostgreSQL with encrypted connections.
- Media Storage: Uploaded property photographs and media files are stored in secure cloud storage buckets (Supabase Storage).
- Authentication: Session credentials are encrypted into cryptographically signed JSON Web Tokens (JWT) stored in HTTP-only, secure browser cookies.
- Messaging: WhatsApp inquiries utilize WhatsApp's official deep link protocol (
wa.me), connecting the buyer directly to the broker's WhatsApp application without intermediation.
6. Data Protection Rights (DPDPA 2023)
In accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) and applicable privacy laws, users have the right to:
- Access & Review: View all personal data held in your broker profile.
- Correction: Update, rectify, or edit inaccurate profile or listing information directly via Profile Settings.
- Deletion & Erasure: Request the deletion of your account, listings, and associated data by contacting our support team.
7. Data Retention & Security
We maintain reasonable technical and organizational security controls to protect your data against accidental loss, unauthorized access, and alteration. Data is retained for as long as your broker account remains active, or until you request account deletion.
